Collaboration
Referral
I greatly value my collaboration with health professionals across the country. This collaboration ensures the best possible treatment for patients.
1. How to refer to Stavros Litsos
Referrals are sent through the Norwegian Health Network (Norsk Helsenett) or by post. I recommend that you:
- Send the referral via Norsk Helsenett (preferred)
- Ask the patient to book an appointment themselves via our online booking
Note: Do not send sensitive information by email. For electronic communication outside Helsenett, personal identifiers must be replaced with initials and date of birth.
2. The referral should include
- Diagnosis or working diagnosis
- Previous treatment and its effect
- Relevant extracts from the medical record
- Desired plan of action
Any MRI images should be made available on PACSonWEB, if necessary with a sharing code from the radiology institute.
3. What happens after the examination
- We send a report to the referring practitioner
- If necessary, we also send a copy to the patient’s GP
- We begin any treatment in collaboration with the referrer
4. The patient is referred back for further follow-up
I know it is often best for the patient to continue treatment with the referrer. I therefore refer patients back when that is most appropriate. Patients are not left without an arrangement with the referring party, unless there is a very good reason.
